I had never thought that someday I would be learning marketing, before I finally decided to come to the US. I guess I was busy running away from the reality there and didn't really realize what I came here for. For a moment I doubted whether I had made the right choice and whether I would be able to successfully go through this. But that moment went away pretty soon. As the old Chinese saying goes, 'now that we are here, let us stay and take the rough with the smooth.' So I took the challenge and erased that initial doubt. As a result, I found a whole new interesting world in marketing, a world that is so different from where I used to be: literature, translation, and technical support.
It was intimidating at the beginning and it still is, but I believe it is the challenge that entails all the fun. The Capstone class might be the best one to prove my point. This class is not only about the marketing techniques, skills and methods, but also it gives us the chance to find where we are in this world and how we feel to be a marketer. I'm glad that I have taken the road that thrills me. So here comes Robert Forest's The Road Not Taken:
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
