Getting Accelerated!!!

This week, I and my team met our client for the first time and everything went well for the most part as we thought which boosted our confidence. We reached The Brandery much before time and therefore utilized the valuable time knowing each other for better understanding and working. We were received by Emily who showed us around the office. The environment was great to work in. People were gearing up for an event which was to take place that evening there. It was also the reason for our concise yet a very productive meeting.

With the introductions began our meeting. Tony and Emily informed us about The Brandery and the problems they want us to solve. Our client knows what they want which straight away eliminated a major task of identifying the problem. The real work has begun now as our client has informed us of what they want (most important issue identified as increasing brand awareness for business growth) and has trusted us with our skills and knowledge. Wasting no time, I and my team began the work on initial Big Picture and Brand Builder’s Toolkit which we thought were necessary at this stage and have forwarded some of it for client review. Our communication with client is majorly going to be via email as it is preferred by the client. Upon receipt of some of the necessary information, we are hoping to get done with the charter early next week.

I have been gaining valuable insights throughout the process . Firstly, from our concise client meeting, we realized that precision is important in today’s fast paced world. It’s not easy but that’s what capstone is all about. You need to figure your way out. Secondly, it is important to understand that one thing might mean different to different people. This leads to divergence of ideas in team meetings and is therefore important to channelize those ideas in correct direction. Lastly, when you know nothing about the company/industry, it’s not something to be scared of. It’s an opportunity to discover something new by researching and meeting new people. Basically it’s a journey of discovery!!!

All in all we are accelerated and geared up for loads of work ahead. We have already started working on the appropriate module and with the signing of the charter, I believe, we would get a solid base for our project. Way to go!!!
