It was a crazy week, to begin with. We established what the client wants and based on it we decided to research aggressively leaving no stone unturned in our efforts to achieve the set objective. We had to research and gather relevant details from literally each and every university in U.S.A for our project. One can imagine the numbers!!! Now that we knew what needs to be done, we decided how it needs to be done. While discussing with the team how we were going to carry out this huge task, we were all aware that the work is going to be time consuming. Once I began working on my part, i.e. researching on universities in 16 states of America, it was taking more time than I thought it would. Therefore never assume that things will flow as per your thoughts. I learnt in the meantime to start working from day one and avoid leaving the work for the last moment. Once the work is piled up, it will surely be stressful but more than that, the work will either remain unfinished or will be inefficient. Planning is very important.
Most of our research this week included gathering information from the internet. While surfing, I realized myself to be analyzing and critiquing the way websites are designed. I was unknowingly judging different websites based on various factors like design, look, font, colors, ease of accessibility etc. This capstone makes your mind think like a marketer truly. I am hoping to use this experience during our project if need be and in my future career also.
As far as the charter is concerned, we are finally done with it this week and everything is on paper now. With the signing of the charter, we will be successfully done with the first step of our project. Our second step was the research which we have already done for the most part. Further we would be analyzing and segregating the collected data. We would also be meeting with Drew next week and discussing with him the work we have done so far and the work we are planning to do ahead. I am confident enough about this but a little nervous and excited too. From the discussion we will know how well we have worked and how well we need to work in order to successfully complete this project.
