After my initial client meeting with the Hamilton County Development Co.(HCDC) in Norwood, I feel overwhelmed, yet optimistic about the project. After meeting with my contact at HCDC, I learned that I would actually be working with and presenting to HCDC’s client, the North College Hill Business Association. It feels overwhelming to be working with several businesses rather than just one business or product, but I feel up for the challenge.
The goal of the project is to create a branding and marketing plan for North College Hill that will improve its perception in the community. In recent years, there has been a perception that North College Hill is not safe. Several media stories that tell of crimes committed in the area have tarnished its reputation.
It kind of reminds me of Over-the-Rhine and how it once had a bad image, yet has recently blossomed into something unique and wonderful.
I’m unclear as to whether I will or will not be working on this project alone. I was assigned to work with someone, but it is unclear if they will be continuing with the project due to unforeseen circumstances.
If I do end up having to work alone, I am a bit concerned about Marketing Research. I think for this project, qualitative research will be most appropriate, yet it can sometimes be difficult to record responses and observe interviewee behavior at the same time.
I look forward to meeting with the North College Hill Business association once I am introduced to a contact there. North College Hill will have its centennial celebration this year so I look forward to delivering recommendations just in time for the official celebration activities in June.
