This week one of the main focuses has been gearing up on research. We are still in the planning stages of primary (and taking steps to get this rolling), however loading up on the secondary. The task of organizing our research has become a little overwhelming as there is a TON of information to manage. However, I am categorizing in abundance and filling in holes. A fear of mine is that we will be in the place to consider ourselves industry experts in a short period of time, especially since we are working with a company with such long & rich history. However, it is a GOOD fear because it is challenging me to take in as much as possible … to really soak it up! The end goal is not to provide a just a current market research report to Tom and his associates, as they are already the experts in the current compression field. The idea is that Zoltan and I cannot move forward with our strategic analysis until we have a full understanding of the industry. And the more that I research, the wider the scope and the more fragmented I find the industry to be! At the same time, I am also finding opportunity and growth potential … which is exciting!
As the research continues I am actually finding it easier to visualize the direction of the project, it’s almost like putting pieces into a puzzle. The more I know about the industry, the more I know where we can help. Luckily, we found out this week that Juzo has purchased a great industry report of the compression industry from GBI Research. This is helping to propel this phase of the research forward so that we can more focus on the wearable portion of the industry (our value-add). This other branch of the research scratches at a new fear of being able to find enough relevant information, since it’s so new and emerging. Fear is spun into another positive, because Zoltan and I recognized the challenge initially and have been thinking creatively on ways to get to this information. And that is why primary will be so key!!
