Summer travels have been impeding our consumer insights research but we're making slow progress. I was traveling last week, and both the Loveland-Symmes and Miami Township Fire Department Captains are out of town this week. Ripinka and I have a confirmed meeting time with Matthew Stelle, Captain of the Loveland-Symmes FD, next week on the 22nd of June. Our interview with the Miami Township Fire Department is to be determined. It will be interesting to see how the experiences of firefighters in a more suburban setting compare with those of a more urban setting like Covington. I imagine there will still be similarities that transcend any differences there might be. I get the impression all firefighters share a sort of fraternal bond no matter where they work, which is a potential insight we could use when developing communications concepts to test in the next phase of the project.
Although I feel like we're at a bit of a standstill this week, I'm optimistic about the opportunity to meet more firefighters next week. Our interview with Covington FD's Jimmy Adams was just as fun as it was insightful. He was enthusiastic to talk to us and even showed RIpinka and I some of the department's equipment, which was a unique experience. I imagine the next firefighters we meet will show the same enthusiasm for our work!
