We are into week 4 and we are yet to finalize on the scope of our project. We have however made some progress and the client is positive that our project would revolve around changing perception of a brand/product and also work on developing product packaging design ideas using SIT. The client is also positive that we would be able to have a clearer picture of the project by the end of this week and I am really hoping that is the case.
The meeting we were supposed to have with Heather (BFO P&G FemCare) last week was canceled because she wasn’t yet aware of this project. It was decided that Jordan would first have an internal meeting with Heather and our meeting was postponed to this week. Although, our meeting with Heather was canceled, we still met Jordan last week to share our initial findings, rough ideas and also to chart out the plan of action. Jordan informed us that we would be coordinating with a team from P&G Geneva going further. We are slated to have a Skype meeting with the P&G Geneva team this week. I hope that this meeting provides us with the much needed direction that we are lacking at this moment.
In the meantime, we decided to do some initial interviews to understand our consumers and get their thoughts on the sanitary pad market. There were some interesting learnings from the interviews, specifically on the idea of comfort. Although everyone said that the pads needed to be comfortable, their idea of comfort differed. An interesting quote that came up was “Protection doesn’t mean you are good for one week but you suffer for the next three weeks (referring to rashes from pads), that is not comfortable”. The interviews we conducted were basic and preliminary, there is still a long way to go. These interviews helped us form questions that we want to ask the P&G Geneva team. Hopefully, this week gives us the needed boost to get this project into the fast lane.
