With the finish of our charter 1, I developed a better understanding of our direction of this project now.
There was one thing I have been worrying about since we got this project: how can we develop the comprehensive marketing plan that our client wants. During our class last week, Mariah found out that the comprehensive strategy for a company would be a deliverable from “brand equity” research in the Capstone filed book. This finding is definitely making our goal more Specific and visualization, and seems it is no longer requires additional consideration of how to build the comprehensive marketing plan. Instead, we would get our plan step by step during the process of identifying the “brand equity” of our organization.
We had our first project review with Drew last Weekend, based on our first charter. This phone conference firstly made me feel our project is kind of promising, better than I thought. As I concerned before, our client has no actual programs yet. Moreover, all the ideas they are having is kind of ambiguous, that’s also one of the reasons I feel we have no direction for our project. But with this project review, I learned we can actually develop the programs for them, this is a very good news for us. Since there is no boundaries from our organization either, I suppose it would be more easy for us to use our marketing knowledge, it gives us free hands to do our project.
However, in the same time, we have no knowledge of the industries our client is involving, neither signage or education. So it could be a heavy work for us to understand the industries first. As Drew said, time is the enemy of our project. Since our client has “nothing” right now, I feel our time is very stressful, our project might be the most complicated one comparing to our classmates.
Lastly, I seriously hope we can actually go visit our client. To see how the organization works and talk to them face-to-face, I suppose that would make our project easier.
