Last week we had our second project review with professor Boyd. In this meeting we discussed the various issues and possibilities with our project. After this review we have a definite direction to go. We realized we needed to dig even more deep to market the product successfully. It wasn’t just important to understand the product, but it was also important to understand the world around the product. We were sticking to very basic aspect of the world-the fire fighter and his needs. But we needed to assess the entire world of firefighters. Professor Boyd also told us to finalize a date for our presentation and start working accordingly. Over all the project review was extremely helpful and gave us a definite path for our project.
We have made a detailed schedule and are trying to work accordingly. In our status call with the client we tentatively set the date of presentation to mid-August. Ross and I were trying to wrap up our qualitative interviews. Last week we spoke to Chief Steve Kelly. He showed us the bailout kit that they used in their department and that was really helpful. Overall, our qualitative interviews were full of insights and helped us gain deeper knowledge of the firefighting world. After analyzing this data, we are aiming to get the test survey out by this week. In the meanwhile, we are also in talks with Kory Macdonald of the Cincinnati Fire Department to gain some more insights.
Going forward we would be working on the deliverables that would include a communication plan with traditional marketing strategy and digital marketing strategy. Professor Boyd also suggested that we would need to make three different value propositions for the product. The coming weeks are going to be more challenging and we would be competing against time now.
