Nearly twenty years had passed when I decided to re-enter the world of higher education. My initial goal was to complete my bachelors and now, I’m approaching the finish line where I will have earned a MS-Marketing degree. It’s been a long, challenging, yet exciting journey and I can tell the thrills will continue during our Capstone class. I think I’m excited about the course and the project because I believe it will be a stepping stone and a powerful tool for future possibilities.
My partner Trevor and I had our initial interview with our client Robbie O’Brien of O’Brien Guitars. The meeting went extremely well and I’m looking forward to working with Robbie. He is a Luthier (guitar builder) and he also instructs others on how to build their own guitars with his online course. Robbie is a one man show, who is doing pretty well, but he’s ready and open to branching out into the new wave of marketing. Our goal is to increase his sales for the online course and analyze/determine an effective price point for the sale of his custom guitars. I’ve gained some great business insights and I’ve made significant business connections during my tenure as a marketing major. My objective is to utilize these assets in an effort to make Robbie a prize winner as well.
I realize this project is going to be intriguing as well as challenging. Therefore, it will be imperative to stay abreast of not only my strengths, but also my weaknesses. Procrastination has been a longtime adversary of mine, and although I always come out victorious, my hope is to snuff it out altogether. Overall, I’m enthusiastic about this opportunity to help shape someone’s business, which ultimately will impact his entire life. I fully comprehend the gravity and responsibility of this assignment and I can say without a doubt that I am ready for the challenge.
