The marketing field book by Professor Boyd is the bible of this course, it helps a lot. After I met with the client, they asked me to develop Personas for the PCA(pest control advisers) in California.Through out the journey, I discovered that there are 9 million acreages of farms in CA only. In order to develop personas, I start reading about the PCAs and surfed several websites, and gathered information about how to push my client's products into PCAs minds before the market. Unfortunately, the head of Horticulture at UC didn't reply to my two emails, however I found everything I want on the websites and I spend more efforts in understanding the technical terms, so thanks to Google. Personas is a mixture of marketing, psychology and economy. Marketers rely on personas to build their strategies. I have another meeting with the customers on the 5th February so my journey will continue all next week to build up the final questionnaires and then to analyze the answers of the PCAs. The insights and ideas from digital marketing course with Professor Diane Hardin and information learned from the Marketing Research course gave me all the tools in creating the Personas.
Now, I will start working on the Charter to setup my dates, deliverables and expectations. I will be reading not less than 4 hours every day to meet the guidelines as my project summarize everything we and still learning. The big challenge is the time management and getting assignments ready on-time. After reading some information about the Pest Control advising process, I really realized the hard times the farmers or growers face in some seasons and its not an easy job at all. Marketing the PCs to farmers is not easy as it depends on so many factors about the crops diseases , irrigations ,etc.
Now, my sleeves are rolled and its time for the first deliverables..
