This past week has been a productive one. I was able to get clarification on a lot of areas of my project from my client, and I’m feeling pretty good about the plan I have in place. Now it is just a matter of going out and executing my plan and holding myself accountable to making significant progress each week. I have an additional class (Data Visualizations) added to my schedule for the second half of the semester, so I need make sure I stay ahead and prioritize my weeks accordingly. I’m starting to feel pulled in a lot of different directions with this Capstone, working downtown and trying to grow my side business as well.
This week I’m focusing on scheduling and conducting all of my interviews that will inform my Core Competency Analysis. Right now I’m building out my discussion guides and tracks. I’m excited to start talking with some of the members of the Cincinnati Curling Club and also talking with some non-members to gain different perspectives. I feel very comfortable in this stage of the project because discussion guide development and moderating qualitative interviews are areas that I have experience in from my other coursework as well as my full-time job. I’m glad to be kicking off my first deliverables with something I have some experience with, but I know during the later phases of this project I’m going to have to go far outside my comfort zone.
This week I’m also planning to meet with my client in-person, so I’m excited to put a name with a face and get to know him better. The club attended a curling tournament this past weekend, so I’m excited to learn more about what a curling tournament entails and how the team did!
Looking forward to seeing everyone in class tonight!
