It's all feeling really overwhelming all the sudden. I can't believe we only have three more weeks left before capstone is over.
I'm focusing on more quantitative research this week. Because the response rate was lower than my client expected (about 15%) for the phone interview portion of the project, I created an online survey to send to all clients who weren't able to speak with me over the phone. The hope is to capture more responses this route, since it is quicker and easier to do than spend time on the phone talking with me. I sent out the survey on Friday and have received four responses so far. I hope to have about 10 by the end of this week or early next.
This week will also be focused on the tactical side of things. Because this project is to come up with actionable suggestions Angleboard can use in the immediate future to improve business, I will be pulling findings from the phone interviews and surveys to come up with ideas on improvement. Something that I've found interesting is that most of their customers believe Angleboard is a commodity item. This is tricky because as Drew says, nothing is a commodity if it's marketed correctly. My job the next few weeks is to come up with a strategy that will shift this commodity perspective into something positive. Their products need to be clearly differentiated and that's not happening right now in the client's eyes.
