Hello Everyone,
It's been quite an interesting week since my last update! After following up with my client, quite a number of times, I finally got a response on Friday. I eventually received the data set with the financials from last years fall fundraising event to upload onto the system. It's been quite a laborious task to manually record each of the entries and I honestly wish I had received the spreadsheet two weeks prior when I was supposed so start working on it. With so much time that has been lost, I am not sure if we can do any further work concerning following up with these donors and creating a complete database but I meet with Susan tomorrow and we will discuss a way forward then.
I had reached out to the organizers of the Loveland Amazing Charity race a week prior and was invited to the planning committee's board meeting on Wednesday. I spent 3 hours with Doug Portman and his team, who were just so gracious to let me observe the meeting, take some notes and kind enough to answer any questions I might have had concerning how they go about planning this event every year. Overall the meeting was such an eyeopener and it was so amazing how many things one has to take into consideration when planning such an event. With only 8 members of the planning committee they are able to welcome 1400 runners every year which is just so impressive. I went on to incorporate the insights into the work i have been doing to put my final report together.
With so much to do, the last thing I needed was to get sick but since Sunday night I really have not been able to do much except lay in bed and try to get better. I was hoping to get my presentation scheduled for next week with the feedback I received from presenting my pitch. Sadly I could not be in class yesterday but hopefully I can still get some feedback on my pitch statement and not have to move my presentation. In any case, I will be discussing and finalizing this with my client tomorrow.
